I arrived in Los Angeles yesterday and ran into a very rare occasion where I was unable to log on to my system in the hotel. This was beyond distressing as I am in Los Angeles for 8 days and the prospect of no computer was horrifying.
I spent 4 hours last night with engineers at this hotel being told my computer is dead and that it doesn't look for me. I will wind this down by telling you that Steve somehow pulled off a miracle for me today, stuck with it and, figured out/fixed, what I was certain to be a lost cause situation.
I am certain that I had never worked with Steve before but I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with the results of my first encounter with him. I can now accomplish everything I hope to during my 8 days in Los Angeles.

As you know, we upgraded our cell phones and purchased DROIDS recently. Unfortunately, we had numerous difficulties getting these phones synced with our Outlook. We were on the phone numerous times with your helpdesk in your office as well as Verizon Wireless. It was your team who finally identified the problem and let the Verizon tech know what he was doing wrong.

I have been meaning to drop you a note. I want you to know that your engineer provided me with excellent support at "SHLLC" when I was upgrading them to the current version of PC Law. The server had to be rebooted and I encountered a number of issues which was server and Citrix base. His cooperation and efficiency was a significant assistance to getting the job done. He was there to install a backup on Michelle mini-server but he made time to assist me because he understood it was important to "SHLLC".
I just wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude to you and your incredible staff at Compunite. I spoke with your tech manager this afternoon and let him know how happy I was with your team's performance. The engineering team worked LIKE DOGS all day Friday in lousy conditions (no A/C), ran into, and solved problems that were not anticipated and got the system at about 95% by Friday at 6:00 pm. The only thing that kept them from completing their task on Friday was their inability to interface with our West Coast IT contractor. On Saturday morning at 7:12 am, I received an email from your engineer indicating that the VPN tunnel was "up" and our email capability restored.
Amazing work! The efforts of your team and their unyielding dedication to completing the task have sold me on Compunite. I will be contacting you towards the end of the week so that we may proceed on the Service Contract and system backup service.
We had a situation over this weekend in which one of our partners permanently deleted a group of e-mail folders by accident. After looking at the backup tapes, (another consulting company) informed me that they could not restore the file without additional software to assist them. I posed the same question to your engineer who came up with an alternate method.

All open security issues are resolved/closed as evidenced by the below email. More importantly however, I wanted to send an email to you both regarding your engineer and his invaluable help when it came to closing the security audit issues addressed by our auditors. Your engineer’s thorough knowledge of issues at hand, his easy non-tech explanations to me of those issues and his cost effective, scalable remedies have made the completion of a difficult process manageable. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I don't often get that kind of diligence from my own staff much less someone else's! He held my hand through this process from the very beginning when I first received the questionnaire from the auditors and from that point forward I felt confident we could meet my client's requirements.
